Protecting staff without turning people away

A healthcare facility cannot close itself off. It has to stay open to patients, relatives, carers, suppliers and volunteers, often in conditions of waiting, pain or confusion. It is in that gap — maximum openness alongside high emotional pressure — that the most frequent incidents arise: verbal aggression towards clinical staff, improper access to wards, unexplained presences at night, conflict in waiting areas.

Our guarding service works exactly on that balance: a visible presence, formal in manner and consistent during critical hours, which lowers tension before it becomes an incident to manage. No display of force: in these settings authority comes from calm and from consistent procedure.

Where guarding makes the biggest difference

  • Emergency departments and waiting areas, where waiting times are the main cause of conflict.

  • Admissions, booking desks and public counters, with queue management and help finding the way.

  • Wards, inpatient areas and night-time access, checking presences outside visiting hours.

  • Private clinics, outpatient centres and care homes, where the guard is often the only point of reference in the evening.

  • Public offices and high-footfall buildings, with access control and orderly crowd management.

The method: analysis, procedures, presence, review

We start from data the facility already holds: where and when incidents cluster, which departments report them, in which hours staff feel most exposed. On that basis we define posts, hours, internal patrol routes and escalation procedures, agreed with clinical management and the person responsible for security.

Officers are briefed on the specific site: floor plans, sensitive departments, assembly points, internal contacts. Every shift produces a verifiable report that feeds the periodic review of the plan.

Where private security ends

Our officers are unarmed private security personnel. They prevent, observe, intervene verbally, escort and report. They do not investigate, hold no coercive powers and in no way replace the police.

When an incident becomes a criminal matter or exceeds preventive management, procedure requires making people safe, preserving the scene and calling 112 immediately, passing the competent authorities times, descriptions and every useful detail. Clinical staff also receive support in reconstructing what happened — often decisive when a complaint is filed.

A project, not a flat quotation

Healthcare facilities and public bodies have their own constraints: hours, tender specifications, internal procedures, patient data. We prefer to start with a site visit and a conversation with the people who know the building, then build the guarding plan together.

Frequently combined with: access control and security reception, night inspection patrols across the site and GDPR-compliant CCTV monitoring.
